  • Life goes on

I have literally hid from my blog...

    Just ignored it.

    Not even visit it.

It's been hard to even get to the computer, first because i don't get anything else done. and when I am done, I am too tired to do anything else.

The puppy still has a happy home.

He is any angel. Truly. Needing xtra discipline, but when he is alone with Ed or on a walk, he is actually perfect, almost.

I have had to use Ceasar Milan's method. But after reading 2 of his books, and watching every show that comes across the tv, I am finding it works. And poor Taffy. To chastise her for her little "growls" she literally looks at me with "what the Hey??"

Taffy is 16. A bit slower, sleeps more, and doesn't come down from bed until she hears the food coming out of the can, but she still has a little hop in her step when she wants to. Doesn't bark unless it is to get the younger 2 inline. Truly she is a well balanced dog.(if you know Cesar, you understand this.)Now Tricksee is another story, she enjoys taunting Autumn and Harley, Literally, she decided that she isn't being run out by the dogs.. She claims her space.

Christmas came and went, a quiet one, but , if I remember , a sunny but chilly day. then the New Year. A nasty flu going around. I never get sick.

Well, i started couphing and getting a cold. The next thing I know, it is the middle of February, and I had no idea where January had gone. Half the time I spent in bed, couphing , hacking, nose running. And when I did feel better, I would get out of the house and the next day, feel even worse. I finally went and got an antibiotic, I hate taking those. They are given too frequently, and when you really need them, your body will be resistant.

I went to the knit and crochet festival that came to Pgh. Was a great time. The weaving class I decided to take, well the teacher, for what reason, had no idea what she was doing, it was cancelled after lunch, when she went to her hotel room, and fell asleep, and finally the head of the festival  woke her up, she looked at us like it was our fault as we didn't wake her up ???

We got our money back and an offer to take a free class on Sunday. I took Maggi Jackson's class. It was great and met a few nice ladies.

Another birthday came and went, and the chronic fatigue-not being able to run as I used to, still a problem. Really makes me sad as the Pgh. marathon is coming back to the city in May. Was the first Marathon i had done and I will be back, though not this year. Their is one more avenue to check out, that happens to renal failure patients, the reasons they get so tired, is the Parathyroid, and sometimes it carries over , after having the transplant, still ends up having an adenoma, which is a cancerous tissue, and causing the same tiredness. SUrgery to remove one or two of them or all of them,  usually solves the problem. the problem is that sometimes the lab work doesn't show that it is malfunctioning, but it is still a problem. Especially when you have 6 symptoms out of 9.

I am needing to walk the dogs, to tire them out, and it tires me out also, but a tired dog is a happy and well behaved dog.

Knitting, well still trying to get it organzied, and just thinking of it tires me out mentally. Did get some new spring yarn from Gedifra, had problems w/the pattern, and decided I needed to finish the Noro sweater I started before Christmas. Almost done, I ran out of yarn, need one more skein, hoping to get that tomorrow and finishing it.It is knit from side to side, and i did the arms in theround, so going quite fast.

We did have a few very chilly days, a small snowstorm or 2, compared to '92, when we h ad 3 feet. Seems that Spring is here early, oh please let it be..

And one more thing. The spinning wheel I have on layaway, I hope to make it a weaving loom. Allot of thinking and I just don't think I will want to knit with the yarn that I spin, and I love the process of being creative, but did ponder this even before I put the wheel on layaway. So hopefully this spring I will be able to take a weaving class.

Hopefully that is the last 5months in a nutshell. Oh, and of course no knitting material to show, you really think this is a knitting blog???!!!

  • Some knitting to show

Who knew??   I know its about time.

harley after surgery 002 These are one of the patterns for the mittens in the Vogue Fall issue. I am using Shibui knits sock yarn. and I chose to use a darker teal, than the blue sky from Claudia's that it calls for in the pattern.

I am also working on a vest from Regia,

harley after surgery 003 Again, the lighting here is horrendous.

My bad. I need to buy a flash for my Pentax k10. Great great camera, but I haven't gotten the flash, or the new macro lens that I want.. gotta cut back on the yarn, or at least destash??!!!

The yarn is the Regia 6ply Kafe Fasse edition. It is a wonderful basic yarn to work with. The colors are just

    DROP DEAD GORGEOUS.

    Ok, off to knit.

  • LIfe has literally gone to the dogs..and a cat

       MEOW

    tHIS is my morning...

Alarm goes off. First my bedside with the battery...

    I hit it off.

Then I set my phone alarm... It goes off every 5 minutes.

Now it used to be that  my body would naturally awaken before the alarms even went off.  Those were the days my friends...

I take t hat phone, tuck it in my hand, my thumb on the side button that hits it off, and am able to do that for an hour..

Most of the time I do remember if I have an appt. I need to go to or class, or whatever.

ButNow with this kind of morning, I hear yapping, high pitch puppy yaps.

Ok, get up go to the br..

Autumn and taffy get up with me, hopefully. Autumn, likes to sleep in..

Leave her out, as she has to go on a leash or she will run like the wind..

Go to the den where we keep Harley's crate...As he hears me, leave him out

before he make a mistake there..But I am finding lil boy pups don't do this as

much as lil girls do !

Take him out,  He is really good about peeing when he is out. Immediatly looks up for a treat.

Then sometimes  he poops sometimes he doesn't.

Come in make coffee. Since I am a coffee snob, I use an aeropress.

Ahh, the best made coffee. If not a latte of course..

Ed uses the Keurig. Very yummy and easy..But we were out of pods.. So I do take care of him.. Crabily of course..

Then to sit and enjoy my own cup..

Oh, and i have forgotten I have to feed Trixie.

She , if I am sleeping in a bit.. Starts to knock things off of my dresser, ed's dresser, ect.. just to get me up. Doesn't always work..

Ya she then goes on to do worse.. BAD KittYCat!!harley 010This is where she pushed the screen out of the window on the back porch and spent a nice sunny afternoon last week. MY banana pepper plants..

She gets wet food in the morning as she doesn't drink enough water, urinary problems, thus another animal with "speCIAL Needs" as

I need an animal that will give me NO PROBLEMS!!!please???

I love this cat, but I am telling you, she is pushing me this past week..Yes its the puppy.  Puppy jealousy..

    Anyway, back to the mornings..

Where was I??ok, so they sit and play while I surf and read emails for a few mi nutes..harley 007

That is nice play. Autumn gets a bit overzealous and finally Harley is fighting back.. Autumn ran from him last nite, up on the lazyboy, and harley couldn't reach him. Good thing.. this pup was MAD(no he really was. haha..

harley 018 Autumn ran back to me, under the computer desk here...FUn fun..

ok, then we go  eat.. then everyone out again..

    Yes, my life..

How does knitting fit into this?? not MUCH.. NOT ENOUGH!!!

I don't even have any knitting related pics yet..

    later.. Famous last words..

    HONEST

ok, pretty pic of the day..harley 033

This year I had gotten some beautiful butterflies from my butterfly bushes. I have 2 so far. Next I am going to get a better macro lens, these butterflys literally held a pose for me.

    Have a good day.

Prayers to all the folks in the Hurricane areas, and people headed there to help out.

  • What's happening??

    harley 008 This.....

is the newest member of our family .

    Harley, as in Harley Davidson.

I got a call from my mother a few weeks ago. My aunt, had gotten a westie puppy a little over a month ago, and the breeder, who also lives near her, in southern Va. had another mother with puppies a month after the first one. Well one lil guy was left, a runt. (ya right) and she thought maybe I would be interested in him.

Well, if you say puppy, or yarn.. I bite.

Ya. site unseen, i wanted him.

Oh what a little rascal. I informed hubby that he was going to be a father again, which  needless to say, he wasn't thrilled about, more so knowing how tired I have been with my chronic fatigue being in full swing this summer.

We made plans to head down 6 hours to Forest , Va.  to pick him up, visit my parents also.

I forgot how tiring training a puppy would be. harley 006

But he IS a good puppy.  He is a little over 3 months. Yes a shemale amongst all of my females  here. ..

Tafy well, most of the time she just ignores him. Autumn... oh my dear sweet lovable Alpha scottydog Autumn..

She lethim know early who rules the roost. Or so she thought.harley 018  Trixie the cat, is interested, but she also has been more accepting of us as her mamma. She is now sleeping at the bottom of the bed. Though she has learned to push the bottom of the screen in the dr out, and I heard mewing as I was sitting in the den at the computer the other day. She was outside and wanted to be let in.

He does sleep through thte  nite, and I am crate training him, and Ed does love him .

He isvery energetic, but a West Highland white terrier, and they are SMART. He knows that is he pees outside, he gets a treat. Works with me.

Though he has tangled with the yarn.  The teeth are sharp.

and will be getting fixed very shortly, as he just turned 4months. so the past few weeks some knitting, not allot.

    ebay items 002

Also working on the gorgeous mittens int he new fall Vogue.

which ones?? oh , pictures to come later.

I had started then  changed some yarns , more later.

    gotta run to knitting group.

  • Shawl progress

    Promises made and kept.

I have only been working on this shawl for the past month.

ON world wide knit in public day, on which is rained. Stormed, I made

a mistake. I only found it a few days later. Thus I had to rip out a few

rows. That turned into 12 rows...8 days later... Due to being very

careful in ripping the last 3 out, as I did Not want to rip out the last

3, but ended up  ripping out them,  I am finally knitting in the right

    direction. FORWARD.

ebay items 002 NO I have NOT nor will add a lifeline. I just have added about 15 more stitchmarkers, thank you Michelle.

The new fall yarns are arriving. I need to blockade myself from the lyc.. again, Sorry Michelle.

I made the mistake of walking thru a Macys dept. store today. I don't have any Cc's anymore, nor will be using them.

I don't do window shopping, so unless I am going to buy something, I am not going in that store. NOt in that store for 2 seconds, was I asked if I  would like to open a  (nasty word) CC. I thus told the nice man who was just doing his job, that if he said another word to me I would take him to court and thus sue the pants off of him as I had  spent thousands of dollars in both therapy ,  and court and would never recover from the emotional distress that Macys had done to me as I not only once but twice had 3 different accounts from them and they still wanted to open yet another account for me. (some of this story is true not all) I had overloaded on sugar from a luncheon at The cheesecake factory after being down 2.6# at WW.

Truly I have lost 15# and only another 40  to go. and I plan to run the

Great Race in Pgh. at the end of Sept. Am going to the gym 3 times a

    week and weightlifting.

    Hopefully more energy for knitting.

Made another payment on my  Kromski Sonata spinnng wheel!!!
